Formentera- A perfect Spanish Destination to Unwind

Formentera is the smallest of the Balearic Islands, often overshadowed by the chic retreats in Mallorca, the historical sites on Menorca, and the self-gratifying parties on Ibiza. But it is this under-developed wildness of the island that invigorates magnetism towards a slow paced life, secluded sandy coves and crystal clear waters.

Sant Francesc, is a small and sleepy fishing village and is also being capital of the island. Sant Francesc is known for its old museum and an 18 century church famous for its prettiness. The landscape of the island is almost flat which makes it ideal for hiking. About 60% of the total landscape of Formentera Island is protected by the law. Formentera has acres of unharmed shoreline with some superb beaches, some sites of cultural interest and some historically important spots. Ca Na Costa is a megalithic sculpture made of vertical stone slabs and the Jules Verne statue is worth appreciation and a must watch in Formentera. Read the rest of this entry »
